VETERINARY NURSE
Kerrie has had a love of animals since she was a child. Her earliest memory was of a character filled Pembroke Corgi named Scamp and a pink & grey Galah named Herbie.
Kerrie decided to take a big career change in June 2015 when she started the process of training to become a vet nurse completing Certificate II & III in animal studies, then on to her Certificate IV in Veterinary nursing which she completed in June 2017.
Kerrie’s inspiration to train as a veterinary nurse came from her youngest daughter Mel who has been vet nursing for 6 years. Her love of animals – especially the equine type has motivated her through her studies. Working at Somersby Animal Hospital gives a wonderful cross section of small animals from Australian Wildlife through to large animals such as horses & cattle.
Outside of work Kerrie loves to spend time with her family, go horse riding, camping and loves the beach. Kerrie is also a keen cake decorator.
In the future Kerrie would love to pursue her interest in Equine massage and further her knowledge and ability in this area. She would also like to get involved with Vets beyond borders.
